The international theme is #NoMoreEmptyPromises:

The international theme is #NoMoreEmptyPromises. In the United States, Fridays for Future USA will be organizing digital actions around this theme and applying it to President Biden’s administration. In President Biden’s Build Back Better plan, he has promised to place renewable energy infrastructure and clean jobs at the center of the economic recovery from the pandemic.

The goal of our #BuildBackGreen campaign is to hold Biden accountable for the promises he made for a Green Recovery and to invigorate our community. We are catalyzing the remobilization of the U.S. Climate Strike Movement!

Call to Action

Program Schedule

We’re planning an entire day of events for you to get involved in the way that’s funnest for you! Pick and choose a few events or stay all day:

GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE 12:00 – 2:00 pm ET

First, we will strike and come together as a community on Zoom. During this time, local groups and individuals are encouraged to bring climate strike signs and posters or shoes and lay them at their local city hall or government buildings. We are also encouraging people to take a photo of themselves striking at home with their signs, and post on social media, tagging their elected officials. This way communities can speak on local issues specific to them and be heard/boosted by social media on a national level.

These actions will be based on the theme of silence. During COVID, we’ve been in an apocalyptic waiting state – looking outside. This is supposed to solidify the fact that while the people are not in the streets – the movement is.

MAPA ROUNDTABLE 2:00 – 3:00 pm ET

Organizers from MAPA (Most Affected People and Places) will talk about their experiences and stories outside of the United States. While organizing on the national level, we encourage U.S. activists to be cognizant of issues often caused by U.S. inaction, and the differences in climate activism in other nations.

NATIONAL DIGITAL RALLY 3:00 – 4:00 pm ET

Our digital rally will highlight dynamic speakers with the goal of re-energizing our movement. The digital rally will feature fiery speakers. serving to energize and inspire our community. Speakers will include prominent climate activists and storytellers. This is where we bring our energy – coming together to get excited about work we are doing!

COMMUNITY BUILDING 4:00 – 5:00 pm ET

Once we are energized and ready to go, we will have community spaces for people to debrief their thoughts and the action they want to take! We will discuss in breakout rooms – featuring representatives from climate organizations, workshops, music, art – whatever inspires you!

WOMEN IN CLIMATE ROUNDTABLE 5:00 – 6:00 pm ET

This roundtable is an opportunity to explore the intersections prominent within the climate crisis. We will have a panel discourse on the intersection of climate and the patriarchy, and the invaluable role women play in climate activism. We will learn about what it is like to be a woman in climate, and discuss the issues women across the world face as a result systematic oppression and the global climate crisis.

AFTER RALLY PARTY 6:00 pm ET – BEYOND

Anyone energized and activated after the rally and day’s events can stay on to participate in themed breakout rooms for people who want to talk about what they’ve learned, community decompression spaces for people who just want to connect with others in the movement, and an after-show party!

This is all here for you to meet the community in the way that works for you. Come to one event, or stay with us all day – whatever you want to do, we’re excited to strike with you!
